Top Three Destinations That Look Just Like The Photos

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

We've all seen them... perfectly Photoshopped pictures of the top travel destinations in the world. It's frustrating when you see these photos and then see the real destination, only to realize you've been duped.

That's why today we're sharing the top three destinations that look just like the photos. Seriously. You'll be shocked, amazed, and in awe at the beauty of these places.

Let's kick it off with...

#3 - Prague, Czech Republic

Prague, Czech Republic
Prague, Czech Republic

Prague was the first European city we ever laid eyes on, and we thought we had hit the jackpot. It's absolutely stunning.

The streets are clean. The people are friendly. The scenery is beautiful. Not much more you could ask for.

One thing to note about Prague, like many European cities, tourism is their main source of income so the streets are regularly crowded. Most of the crowds will be found in the city center near the astronomical clock.

Since tourism is so big in Prague, you'll find that most of the locals under 40 speak near perfect English and are willing and able to help you when you find yourself lost or confused. They're very understanding when you don't speak the language, and are all around just great people.

For all of the single ladies out there, Prague has some of the most beautiful men we've ever seen. This is especially true of the guards, police officers, and military members.

We visited Prague as part of the Viking Cruises Grand European Tour.

#2 - Venice, Italy

Venice, Italy

Venice has to be the dreamiest city of them all.

Streets flowing with water and gondolas. Multicolored buildings with window boxes and hanging laundry.

Every street you walk looks like a picture-perfect postcard.

We had a wonderful time meandering the streets and feeling the cool breeze coming off the water. However, our fun, relaxing time was cut short when we ran into a wall of people. We visited Venice in July, which is peak tourist season, so we were literally locked into a crowd of people only able to go with the flow for several blocks.

The streets are fairly small in Venice, so the crowds make things a bit claustrophobic at times, but that's the only negative we found about the city.

We traveled to Venice as part of the Viking Cruises Mediterranean Odyssey.

#1 - Santorini, Greece

Santorini, Greece
Santorini, Greece

Like you probably have, we've seen dozens upon dozens of photos of Santorini over the years. The iconic white buildings and blue domes. Beautiful. Fresh. Clean. Stunning.

We fully expected to pull into Santorini and have it look nothing like the photos suggested. The ultimate expectations versus reality there is. However, we were greeted by stark white buildings and the bluest water we've ever seen.

It looked like just the photographs.

We visited Oia (the iconic blue domes and white buildings) fairly early in the morning, so the streets weren't crowded yet. I would imagine, as the day goes on, that things would get much more hectic and photo ops would be harder to capture.

We traveled to Santorini with Celestyal Cruises.

Conclusion

There are a ton of beautiful places throughout the world that could have made this list, but we chose our top three destinations that look just like the photos.

What are some picture-perfect places you've visited and why should we check them out too?
