Top Three Best River Cruise Destinations
There are countless river cruise destinations out there, and it can be very overwhelming trying to figure out where to go and what to do. In this post, we're sharing our top three best river cruise destinations.
#3 - Cologne, Germany
Cologne is filled with hustle and bustle and a beautiful cathedral.
The streets seem to go on forever. There's a ton of shopping to be done and restaurants to enjoy. We found the city, overall, easy to navigate. However, it's easy to walk and get lost in the movement of the city, so just try to stay aware of where you are. If worst comes to worst, your GPS should work just fine in the city.
If you're needing a little extra exercise, take a walk across the bridge and check out the locks and view of the river.
#2 - Strasbourg, France
Strasbourg is a beautiful city.
It offers beautiful views including Petite France and the cathedral. We've always visited around November/December so the city is teeming with Christmas booths. It is one of the biggest Christmas markets we've visited on our river cruises.
There are also plenty of options for shopping including higher-end stores like Louis Vuitton.
#1 - Koblenz, Germany
We've been to Koblenz three times and it is the most unexpectedly wonderful stop.
At first, it seems like a quaint little town. However, the more you wind through the streets, the more you realize that this little city has a lot to offer.
There are plenty of unique shops to visit, delicious restaurants, and familiar stops as well. You can find just about anything you're looking for in Koblenz.
There are also some unique photo stops, including a six foot thumb sculpture just outside the city center.
